NORTHWEST INDIAN HEALTH BOARD: By: Mary Alice Muncey The Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board will hold its quarterly meeting July 22-24 at Chemawa in Salem. The Siletz Tribe is helping to sponsor this meeting. The Siletz night on the program is scheduled for Wednesday evening July 22nd. Mary Alice Muncey is the Tribal delegate to this meeting, Pauline Ricks is the alternate. Tribal representatives and delegates from Idaho, Washington, and Oregon will attend. OREGON INDIAN EDUCATION ASSOCIATION MEETING EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING The Executive Board meeting of the Oregon Indian Education Association was held June 19th at the Red Lion Hotel in Portland at the Lloyd Center. In attendance from the Siletz area were Doni White, Salem JOM Coordinator and Mary Alice Muncey. Mrs Muncey is the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians delegate and Doni White was selected by the Tribal Council to help with the nation Indian Education Association Meeting in Portland during October 1981. At the June 19th meeting arrangements were made to host the nations meeting. Molly Woods of Chemawa was present. She was encouraging the help of the OLEA (Oregon Indian Education Association) to assist with the Career Workshop for Indian High School students. The tenative date is December 1981. 1 2 * 4 3 The past year the association helped with the state textbook review on history books. President LaVonne Edmo says that it is important that everyone write their Congressmen to encourage their support to continue Title IV and the JOM Programs for the 1982 year. The Employment Counselor will assist you in going over current job listings, writing resumes and filling out job applications, etc . You do NOT have to be CETA eligible for this type of service. We make direct referrals. Come in and talk to us if you are looking for a job, or if you would like assis tance in developing a resume or filling out a job application.
