CONGRATULATIONS:
"STUDENTS FOR A JOB WELL DONE

SENIOR KELLY SIMMONS received the Larkie Logan Award for outstanding accomplishments
in volleyball. She also won the Bob Mathews Award . This scholarship is in the
amount of $200.00 and it goes to the student who is outstanding in Academic Achieve
ments, personal appearences and who devotes time in all school activités. Kelly held
a GPA of 3.5 throughout her highschool years. Kirk Mathews presented this well
deserved scholarship to Kelly during graduation.
The proud parents are Franklin and
Nancy Simmons, Siletz. We all hope that during her time at Oregon State she discovers
her life ambitions.
SENIOR FONDA CASE received the Larkie Logan Award in basketball. They said with her
all around playing she could be anothe "Walton".
Fonda has received many different awards and scholarships, I can't talk about them all
so I will give you the list starting with Outstanding Firl Award, Superintendents
Award, Oregon Scholarship Award, Tripple "S" Award, 3 years in a row. Georgia Pacific
Scholarship, Local State and National Elks Scholarships and last the National Honor
Society Scholarship.
Fonda will be attending Oregon Tech, in Klamath Falls this fall.
We hope that she will find her dreams and make them come true. The proud parent is Elouise
Case, Siletz.
SENIOR ROBERT KENTTA was named most improved Basketball player of the year. The coach
said he would like to keep Robert for two (2) more years. The proud parent is Jo Ann
Miller, Siletz.
Senior Skip Day JOM: The Seniors went to Mt. Hood for skip day. We had one student
Willo Daugherty who is another Spider Savage.
She taught the rest of the students
how to ski. After a short lesson Robert Kentta and Tony Green decided that they were
ready for the ski lift. They went to midpoint up the mountain and skied down. When
I saw the stretcher going up the hill on the lift I just knew that one of my students
was hurt. Thank goodness that it was only for the movie that they were filming higher
up the mountain.
I could just see the students in a cast at graduation.
During the
trip we also stopped by the State Capitol in Salem for the opening ceremony of Indian
Week. We also went to view the Artistic Heritage of the Siletz at the Georgia-Pacific
Historical Museum in Portland.

White for the fine display.
This was a goodbye trip for the seniors. I have enjoyed them tremendously.
THE RUN AROUND K ID:
There is a body that has been in A-l condition this year, the person it belongs to has
been given awards for the most outstanding Offensive Football Player, Most Inspirational
Basketball Player and the most Defensive Baseball Player.
This Honor goes to "Jerry
Howell" the proud parents are Walter and Deanna Howell, Siletz.
Since Jerry is only
a Junior this coming school year we will be seeing him in action again. "CONGRATULATIONS'.1
