SALEM A R E A O F F IC E NEW S The Salem Area Offie is still taking names of persons interested in gardening projects. To this date we have received only one request. We hope to hear from more of our Tribal Members who are interested. Our Salem Area CHR is visiting Tribal Members homes doing health profiles. If you have a particular health problem or wish a visit on a particular date, call Jolynne Ward, 393-3912 and make special arrangements. The Salem Area JOM has five graduating Seniors this year all are from McNary High School in Salem. LaVonna Clark, Darris Lincoln, Martin Pehnecoose, Tim Pigsley, and Lisa Lonefight. Tim Pigsley is the only Siletz Tribal Member graduating from McNary High School. Tim will be attending Chemeketa Community College next fall. While m school Tim was an outstanding athelete. He was selected as All League Offensive.Player, and he was selected for the All League Weestling Guard. Tim also has a fine academic record and is on the Spring Term Honor Roll. The Salem Preschool concluded their preschool program for this year April 29th with a fild trip to The Enchanted Forest and a picnic. Graduating from the preschool with "honors" were: Steve Azule, John Wheaton, and Raycen Ballard. CONGRATULATIONS to Elaine & Wayne Thomas on their new baby girl Kimberlee Roxanne, born April 30th at 8:18 p.m. weighting 8 lbs 12^ oz. T R IB A L NEW S Rachel A. Summer a Tribal Member is available to assist with written correspondence resumes, employment applications and scholarship applications. Complaints or any requests concerning professional or government agencies. Rachel also can be of assistance with research development of medical treatment, real estate and many personal areas of interest. There is no charge for Rachel's personal service to Tribal Members, but she does ask that you pay for any expenses she might incur. Don't let a lack of Lunds stop you from contacting Rachel because she say's something can always be worked out. Address: Rachel A. IN D IA N HEALTH NEW S Mary Alice Muncey, Tribal delegate to the Northwest Portland Area Health Board and her alternate, Pauline Ricks attended the Boards Quarterly Meeting in San Diego, California, April 6-llth. While there, they also attended the National Indian Health Board Meeting. The main thrust of both meetings was funding and block grants. It is hoped that the Tribes will get together and seek a solution to the problems. While in San Diego, Mrs. Muncey and Mrs. Ricks visited with Mr & Mrs. Al Lane Jr. and Mr & Mrs. Warren Woods and families. On Saturday Mrs, Woods took Mrs. Muncey and Mrs, Ricks to Tijuana, Mexico. 4
