Akers have lived in V ernonia since 1947 com ing to this area from Payette, Idaho at which tim e Akers v as em ployed bv the O re g o n American Mill until its c lo s u re in 19S"’. I he roast beef d in n e r will be held at the IOO1 Hall at 7 p.m. preceded by a no-host ctK'kt ail hour at 6 p.m. T ickets are on sa le at the City Hall until Mav 24 and a re $3 p er person. Senior Grant Applications a re being accepted at the V ernonia HighSchool for a grant to be aw arded a graduating se n io r bv the V er nonia C ham ber of C om m erce.
