Thursday June 21,1979 Vernonia Freedom — Page 5 orest Practices Committee to meet this month The three Regional Forestry Practices Committees that advise the state Board of Forestry will meet soon to review forest practices rules relating to reforestation and application of chemicals on Oregon’s forest lands. . T.he State Forester currently specifies limitations of temperature, humidity, wind and other factors that must be met before chemicals may be applied to forest lands in Oregon. The committees will discuss whether to recommend that those limitations be spelled out in detail in the forest practices rulebook, rather than be administered by the State Forester through a directive as they are now. The committees will also consider whether the rules should be changed to make the forest landowner responsible for seeing that lands are reforested after logging, rather than having the forest operator responsible as the rules now require. Forest Electronics This year Cathlamet Little Theatre for its eleventh annual melodrama will stage “The Drunkard” or “The Fallen Saved.” This famous old play has been performed world wide since its first appearance some 135 years ago.
