Phone 3336 Approximately 1000 people saw the Bulldogs fight a game battle through most of the 20-m lnute struggle With the Pirates. Only dur ing the last few minutes did the Bulldogs' defenses crumble to per mit cripple shots which ran the score up to the six point margin. Dayton's boisterous rooting sec tion, neatly attired In the school’s colors of red and white, handily won the trophy awarded for the top cheering group. The trophy was a new innovation for the league, and ¡th e six cheering sections kepi (he gym alive with yelling and singing. The West team s. W illam ina, Am ity and Sheridan, copped the Jam boree marathon scoring title with 64 points to 4?» for Dayton, Carlton and Yamhill. In the first game of the evening Sheridan used excessive height to advantage to ring up a lopsided 28- 16 triumph over Carlton.
