TIMES, WILLAMINA. OREGON P a 'e 10 ||<[><roilhr Mrs. Ollie Gillespie in company with her daughter, Mrs. Byron Keith and son Russell of Talent. Ore., made a trip to Portland Thursday. Russell was received at the Shriner’s hos pital for a plastic operation on his neck due to severe burns received two years ago. Mrs. Gillespie and Mrs. Keith remained over night and Friday morning visited the KOIN studio early morning programs. Mrs. O. W. Cobb received a letter Monday bringing the sad news of the death of her cousin. Forest Emmitt at Tyee, Ore., last Friday. Mr. Em mitt was assisting Mrs. Cobb’s bro ther, Hiram Powell, kill turkeys on the Powell farm a few miles out from Oakland, Ore. Forest had stuck a bird and it flopped and hit the knife in his hand and drove the sharp pointed blade into his heart. Death followed in 30 minutes. Huddleston, at Willa mina, Oregon, for the furnishing and operation of a school bus for the transportation of grade and high school students for a period of five (5) years over the route known as Willamina-Hillcrest-Fort Hill Junc tion bus route with an approximate mileage of 14 miles. A bidder’s bond of $1000 must accompany the bid and the successful bidder will be required to enter into a performance bond. The board reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and in all bids a complete description of equip ment to be furnished must be sub mitted, and which equipment will be subject to approval of the school board, and must be in compliance with all state laws pertaining to transportation of school students.
