Irrigation Works Wonder with Crops The prospects for good crops in the Willamina district con tinue bright. The occasional showers have greatly helped the growing vegetation. However, before the season is over there may be the usual dry spell that cuts down the yield of various crops, espec ially alfalfa. Several local farmers are experimenting with small irrigated tracts and the results are highly satisfactory. All who have water available will do well to irrigate on a small scale, at least. Without irrigation it takes 20 acres to pasture for one cow, while one acre of irrigated land will keep three cows, County Agent White is quoted as saying.
