The crews of — roadmen with their structural m machinery, are gathering for I work on the Salmon River cut off and soon much activity will be carried out from this center, New Grand Ronde has a very promising future. Never has there been a time when the general crop outlook was better all along our highway than it is this year. The hay crop, especially, promises tn be very heavy. The fine rains of the past two weeks, are truly making the crops for this year. Fruit is looking good as is also small vegetables, The pasture is excelent, which assures a co- pious flow of milk from our great herds of cattle. ------------ S------------ Work of construction on the new Union Oil Company distri buting station on the corner ac ross from the Coast Highway Garage, was started this week. Mrs. Parry, of Grand Ronde, mother of J. C. Barry, cashier of tne Grand Ronde bank, is seriously ill with heart failure. Her many friends extend s'neere hopes that she may soon recover. Willamina was defeated in the hall game Sunday to the tune of 23 to 11. The game was good and mu< h enjoyed by those in attendance. Another game will be played on the home field Sun day when Willamina will meet the Fleschner & Mayer team of Portland. Come out and help boost.
