H i; COUNTY FAIR NOTES SAME DURING JULY IN AREA Employment remained about the same during July, according to word received from the local labor market, conducted by tht Oregon State Employment Ser vice. A slight Increase was due to call backs and re-h lres as the lumber mills completed their vacations and repairs. The number of new unemploy ment claims was 20% more than the total for the month of July a year ago. 1 he estimated number of un employed was 6% less than last month. There is a general feeling that business men have experienced conditions as good as last year, but they seem to be "pulling in their horns" as to expansion and they are also reviewing their plans to reduce costs. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Rogers left Monday to take Glen's father to Los Altos, Calif. They will return next week. ______ P k WIUW p j — nAKoUK The Princess from the central part of the county became the Fair Queen as her areaam assec the largest number of points from exhibits entered.
