This scene is one of many beautiful scenes in the city of Brookings. Many small private boats still tie up at the point, and come in to the picturesque Cove. One of the small boats can be seen coming in at the left. Many people have lived in the city for years and have neve) seen this view of the Cove. The point is privately own ed. Miss Berger has employ ment as a dental assistant in P o rt land where she has lived the last four years. ****************** Mr. and Mrs. E.H . Brock- m uller, operators of the Brook ings Laundry are having a few days vacation in Nevada. They are visiting their daughters and families. Campbell home this weekend were the Oscai Walls family from Phoenix, Ariz. *********** Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pom- m ar ane and son and daughter are settled in their new home on Del Norte Lane. Pommarane is a state policeman. ***♦♦♦**♦♦* Miss Jackie W arren of Forest Grove, who has been a visitor at the RayReeser home for the piist three weeks, and Mrs. Ray Reeser traveled to F o r e s t Grove, and Portland by bus to spend a few days. Mrs. Rees e r then went on to A lb a n y to visit where Mr. Reeser picked her up, on his way back from Seattle where he and Virgil Clark had attended the Gold Cup ra c e s. They arrived home Monday ev ening. **************** Mr. and M rs. John Mont gomery and three children will occupy the Ed Dempsey home on Memory Lane for a few months, while their new home on Railroad Ave. Is being completed Mr. Ed Dempsey is getting along quite well and is now back to work on a part time basis. ********** VISITS FROM ALASKA M rs. Arnold Booth, of Meta- katla, Alaska, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Gulley and siste r of Ross Gulley'is visiting here. Her son Brian is also visiting and plans to enroll in the Brook ings schools this fall. He is an ardent basketball player, and hopes to try out for the team. Mrs. Booth and her son a r e staying w ith the R o s s Gulleys while here. ************* MOTHER DIES IN GLASCOW M rs. Ernest Warinner re ceived word that her mother of 88 years had passed a w a y on August 9th, at her home in Glascow, the British Isles. M rs. Warinner was one of eight children, six of whom are living. Her fatherpassed away eight years ago, at the age of eighty. M rs.
