W e li ave been bounding the highway commission for
action on the Brook ings-Gold Reach 101 bottleneck for
years, as a newspaper, and is a community. In this move
m ent we have had plenty of help, localise the state as a
whole realizes the imperitive need for .1 good ice free
highway th t parele'ls the most beautiful scenic attractive
anywhere in the vouotry.
However, to the south there is also a trouble spot, that
we can’t overlook in our desire to see highway 101 im
proved. The W iychuck bridge curve is one of the most
hazardous pieces of constructions we’ve ever seen on a
highway, that hand! s the traffic 101 dpes.
W e know that there his been f.ital accidents there in
the past, and undoubt-dlv there will he accidents there in
the future. We realize the highway commissions pro
blem—which is simply— not enough money to go a-
round. But we earnestly would like to remind them of
the situation. It is exceedingly dangerous, and any step
that can be made to eliminate this wicked curve would
he appreciated by tin usands of m o to rists.
