The dress shop is operated by a p artn ersh ip between two ladies w ith considerable b ac k ground in m erchandising, Mrs. Emil W. M itchell and Mrs. Ray G adherry. Mrs. M itchell, whose husband is w ith the Brookings Plywood Corp., form erly owned and operated the T ots <fe Teens. She had sold out th a t business in Ju n e before opening the Mode O’Day. Mrs. G adherry had con siderable exjierience in m erch andising in the S ta te of A rk a n sas before moving to W ashing ton. She moved here from the neighboring sta te to th e N orth in November 1947 w ith her husband. He has been a lum ber and sawm ill m an in both sta te s for a num ber of years. • • • MAY’S FUN AND MAGIC SH O P in the Brookings H otel is p art of the operations of May Blunt. She says she opened the shop in April of 1954 because she couldn’t get anyoone to bite on her jokes at home anym ore.
