BROOKINGS-HARBOR PILOT — BROOKINGS, OREGON
SfíuídíHiik fo i
With the trout season in the
offing, war veterans 25 percent
or more disabled were reminded
today that they are entitled to
fishing licenses for 50 cents.
The Oregon Department of
Veterans’ Affairs in issuing the
reminder, said the veteran must
have been an Oregon resident
for one year prior to applying
for the license. His disability
must be current, and it must be
certified by the Veterans Ad
ministration.
Application is made to the
State Game Commission, 1634,
S.W. Alder, Portland.
Veterans of the Spanish Amer
ican War, the Phillipine insur
rection and the Boxer Rebellion
do not have to prove disability.
County veterans’ service offic
ers and the state veterans’ de
partment can assist disabled ex-
servicemen in filing for the ben
efit.
The veterans’ department also
reminded men on active duty
with the armed forces in Oregon
that they are entitled to fishing
licenses in this state at the same
price as residents. They may ap
ply at any sporting goods store
which issues game licenses.
