O r’e book is a g e n e ra ’ history of th e s ta te T he o th e r th re e are a veritab le gold m ine of biograph ical m a te ria l on the early se ttle rs and contain hundreds and hun dreds of sto ries which seem to indicate tb? a u th o r a c tu a lly in te r viewed each subject and recorded ’ h e i r personal rem iniscences. T here a r e m any pho to g rap h s and o th e r illu stratio n s, not only of the first to cross tb» plains but also of some of th e natives.
