train s.
In an effort to expedite d eliv er­
ies, postal au th o ritie s a re urging
business firm s to deposit th e ir
out-going m ail tw o o r th re e tim es

noon, ex p lain in g th a t it m akes
little sense to allow a le tte r w rit­
ten a t 10 a. m. to sit around in
a basket for seven h o u rs until it
is posted.

tim e-sav in g m ethods w ith govern­
m ent incom petence w ill co n tin u e
th e ir p ra c tic e of m ak in g one 5
p. m. m ail deposit a day. Yet, by
co operating w ith the governm ent,
th ey could help im prove its ef-
; ficiency. In m any sim ilar cases,
gov ern m en t efficiency could be r e ­
duced w ith citizen assistan ce.
M any people, however, a p p a re n tly
would ra th e r com plain ab o u t th e
governm ent th an co o p e rate w ith
it.
