The train in g is m ostly along vocational lines and one learn s by d o inr, alth o u g h th e re are o p p o rtu n ities for advanced courses including the stu d y of .plant diseases, bugs, m icrobes, soil ch em istry , etc., but th e real dem and is for w hat are known in the trad e as “grow ers." T h ere is a crying call for m en < r w om en who can produce salable p la n ts from tht ir propogation source and th e re is not a little p leasu re as well as m oney co n nected w ith th e deal. Usually, "g ro w er” s ta rts as an ap p ren tice, at low wages, w hich m ight b«> com pared to th e m oney one has to lay out for the usual college courses. F o r ladies, th e re is a l w ays w ork for designers, both for individual pieces, such as corsages and for fu n e ra ls and for o th e r occasions, as well as th e actu al grow ing of p lants.
