Christmas Night
The annual ball given by the
firemen to raise funds for the
yearly C hristm as tree and tre a ts
for children will be held this year
a t the V.F.W. hall on C hristm as
night.
This com m unity service has
been sponsored for m any years
by the V olunteer Firem en and
a huge C hristm as tree is erected
each year on the strip before the
en tran ce to the C entral building.

Sharp Decline
In Lamb Prices
(ialc force winds and pouring rain which has
continued to plague the area let up somewhat before
going to press, but intermittent showers drench this
locality every few hours.. Considerable damage to*
property by the terrific winds, was done in all parts
of the community during the recent storms.
1 he roof of the recreation room and apartment
at Don’s Cliff 1 louse was blown off. Norris Kemp’s
pump house, south of Harbor, was blown down.
Shingles and a window in the Kerr building, and
four large 6xio-ft. windows at the Conn Motors in
West Brookings were blown out. The overhang at
tjie rear of the Community church also was blown
off and many porches and windows of residences
damaged within the last week.
Electricity was off at one time for alxmt ten hours
and for short periods many times.
Roads were blocked by trees and slides and tele­
phone service interrupted.
Utility services are getting back to normal and
workers are catching up on much needed rest.
