Robert H. Ismert, Bob as he is
known by his tfriends, elected Curry
County Commissioner, is not exact
ly new in this part of the county.
His parents moved to Pistol River
in 1880. When he was eleven years
of age he lived in Brookings for a
short time.
Mr. Ismert has had 15 years ex
perience with the State Highway
Department, helping to rebuild the
Winchuck bridge about 12 years
ago. He was painting inspector on
the Chetco bridge and built the
side walk when the highway was
changed some months ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Ismert live on o
farm at Pistol River. They have
two daughters. Donna who works
in Gold Beach and Carole, a grade
school student.
Mr. Ism ert’s mother, Mrs. Vera
Ism ert moved to Brookings two.

Specifically, the group recom
mends the installation of adequate
subscriber facilities, switchboards,
poles and individual installations,
and expanded trunk service com
mensurate with our business and
population needs as the fastest
growing county in the northwest,

the endorsement of the local Cham
ber of Commerce in Brookings, Port
Orford and Gold Beach, the Munici
pal government of each of the
cities and the County Government
of Curry County, and the Sixes,
Ophir and Chetco Granges.
