Word has been received by the
Pilot that Fred Newman, a form ­
er resident, passed away in P o rt­
land on Friday, Oct. 24th in the
Ray Young, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Glenn Young, left for San
Deigo last Tuesday w here he en ­
tered the navy. He was com plete­
ly recovered from a recent opera­
tion, w hich he feared might post­
pone his acceptance by the navy.

who also enlisted lately is ex­
pected to be called this week.
