In th e course of one spring we trap ed about 15 gophers in a garden patch no la rg e r th an a fifth of an acre. In one recent week we caught not only gophers but ground sq u irrels, m o u n tain beaver, m ink and mole. W e have 09 not seen any jack rab b its, k a n garoo ra ts o r w oodchucks but we have o u r fingers crossed. It does not pay to ease up on any of these pests. T he garden which is well w a te re d and a source of ab u n d an t food provides ideal living conditions. It is an oasis in a desert w here th ey find food, s h e lte r and com panions. By Mrs. E.
