BROOKINGS-HARIVOR PILOT, BROOKINGS, OREGON
program will close
Further information
shed next week.
It was two years ago, about this
week that Young’s 5 & 10 opened
its doors to the public in Brook
ings. According to Charles Young
these two years have been event
ful for the store. To observe the
occasion a sales event has been
arranged. The message is carried
on another page in this issue.
* The store was first oi»ened in
th e building across the street, now
occupied by Young’s Gift Shop.
When the Manley building was
completed last Summer, the store
was moved to its present location
and considerable expansion was
made to meet the anticipated new
business the location would afford.
Young’s 5 & 10 handles what
the name implies, strictly stock
of variety type.

EFFECT OF DRUGS on body tissues is recorded on the drum of the
kymorraph, which is shown above In operation under the supervision
of research pharmacologist William L Hazlett at the Nutrilite Research
Laboratories in Buena Park, California. Hazlett puts tissues of ex
perimental animals in a solution, then adds the drug to be tested. Re
action of the drug on the tissue is recorded on the slowly-revolving
cylinder. The resulting recordings of the various drugs are later studied
and their different reactions compared.
