Thursday, January 24, 1952 Just PERSONAL J^R(X)KI\GS-HARBOR PILOT, BROOKINGS, OREGON who would like to have th e job of being president. LOCAL NEWS I look at Eisenhower <is a rcal- I istic man. Certainly he may not be a politician, a statesman or a \a politically-polished human, but 1 he certainly is a man with con siderable judgment. He organised the invasion of Normandy, a feat that I believe unis too big for any other man alive today. He can go to any capital in western Eu rope and the powers accept him as the man of the hour. Our so-called politicians have ra ile d w hile on h°meWard gotten the country into quite a mess, in foreign affairs, in do mestic affairs and with the fu ture as shaky as if is today, do we not want a man who has a “backbone” to carry out what is good?
