A rra n g e m en ts for e n te rta in in g thousands of v eteran s and m em bers of th e ir fam ilies have been m ade by a convention com m ission of m em b ers of S easide Post No. 99, w hich will be host for th e ses sions. O pening th e convention on S ep tem b er 11 will be the one-day sessions of th e iE g h t et F o rty and on ep tem b er 12 for th e F o rty et E ight. R eg istratio n for th e A m er ican Legion sessions will s ta rt on S ep tem b er 11 and continue th ro d u g h th e 15th. T h ere will be a public m em orial service beginning at 9 a.m. on S ep tem b e r 13. Rev. G eorge H. Sw ift, d e p a rtm e n t ch ap lain, S alem , will (give an ad d ress: “ Lest W e F o r g e t.” At the jo in t opening session to follow im m ediately, G overnor D ouglas M cKay and Lewis Gough,, P asad en a. Calif., n a tio n al vice co m m ander of th e A m erican Legion, will sh a re the honors, each being scheduled for an address. Business sessions will begin at 1:30 p.m. T h u rsd ay and continue th ro u g h o u t F rid ay and S a tu rd a y m orning, w ith election and in s ta lla tio n of o fficers scheduled fo r th e final sesihon on S a tu r day.
