On alm ost any co in er, loking in any direction up and down the shadow ed cav erns th at a re called s tre e ts in this tow n of sk y scra p ers, you can see th e red and w h ite strip es, the w hite s ta rs on th e blue field, catching your eye as persuasively r s they ca tc h each b re a th of breeze. W h a t’s the ce le b ratio n ? Jac k M urphy could tell you. H e’d say, "W e’re c e le b ratin g be ing A m ericans."
