In looking back over the flower shows that have been presented by the club, many beautiful things can readily be brought to mind and more than likely any one of them were good Purple Ribbon material with perhaps ex ception of horticultural specimens which must be at least 60% of the show, but the 1950 show’ was the first to be presented for com petition for the ward. For the benefit of future flower show' chairmen there is a valuable lit tle book in the library: “Hand book of Flower Shows,” put out by the federation. Azalea Garden club is not eligible to compete in 1951, but there is another year just beginning for the club, which may again make a bid for the Purple Ribbon award in 1952. Oregon, American Legion, Boys State is an annual affair to in struct boys in the theories of civics and politics, and is open only to members of the junior class in high school. “Boys are kept on the go from 6 a. m. until 10 p. m. in a well scheduled program which has a lot of interests. It was so hot last week at Corvallis, that a lot of the boys had difficulty in staying awake in classes. “It’s a wonderful experience for a fellow’, and I am glad I had that opportunity. The boys there arc from all over Oregon, and generally are a fine bunch.” Wranglers Name New Officers Meeting at the Wilson Free man home, Friday night, Chetco Wrangelers elected Roy Brimm president for the coming year.
