That will be the end [of the world. Are you ready? Episcopal we waited for thee; the desire to our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee” Isa. 26:8. Among citations which com- prise the Lesson-Sermon is the following from the Bible: “My soul shall make her boast in the Lord’’ (Ps. 34:2), together with me following correlative pass- ; ge from the Christian Science textbook, “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures” by Mary Baker Eddy: "The recipe lor beauty is to have less illusion and more Soul, to retreat from the belief of pain or pleasure in the body into the unchanging calm and glorious freedom of spiritual harmony” (page 247). CRESCENT CITY Merchants defeated Brookings by a 12 to score free-hitting and somewhat loosely-played baseball game at the local field, Sunday. The Pelicans started out like got his third walk of the game and scored on Bill McLean’s dou ble down right field foul line. Keith Johnson, infielder and relief pitcher for the SOCE team at Ashland this spring, patched the entire game for the Pelicans and despite allowing 17 hits, a Jot of which were of the ‘blooper’ variety, deserved a better fate. The Merchants scored three in the third, two in the fourth, five in the fifth, only two of which were earned, and three in the sixth, none of which, the earned variety. Ken Kimura with two hits in addition to his three walks and Whitey Matson with three five, lead the Pelicans at the plate. The Pelicans, after two prac- tice games this spring, take on the Coquille Loggers in South western Oregon League opener at Brookings next Sunday. The Loggers, champions league last season, should again be one of the top teams. The Pelicans will also present a real strengthened line-up and the fans in Brookings should be in for a baseball treat Sunday.
