LANGLOIS NEWS
SUPPLI
By Nancy Moore
For that young man or lady who is in school,
who may have endless themes, papers and re
ports to 'hand in', a new ''Smith-Corona” type
writer could be the greatest Christmas present
you could possibly give. Place a gift certificate
under the Christmas tree, and watch the delight.
Langlois Home Extension unit
met 1 hursday at the home of
Mrs. Lillian Berg. Among those
present to share in the benefits
<4 the lesson on ‘‘Emergency
Meals” were: Marian Brooks,
Olive Britton. Florence Thorha-
ven. Elsie Quinn, Jean Strain,
Pauline Anderson, Etheleen
Thompson, Arlene Thetford and
the hostess, Lillian Berg. Special
points o n making emergency
meals a pleasure instead of a
bugbear were brought out by
Dorothy Newton, Curry County
home demonstration agent.

Office supplies, including adding machines,
cash registers, typewriters, together with busi
ness forms are being made available in Curry
County through Brookings-Harbor Pilot and the
Typo-print, at Gold Beach.
Go to your nearest office and make known
your wants. It may be surprising how easily all
these may be solved, and quickly.

Demonstration
service, operating through local
units, is bringing the instruction
of the U. S. Department of Ag
riculture and OSC through the
home demonstartion agent direct
to the nousewife.
This is the third year that the
Langlois unit has been operating
and, if it were possible to look
into the home of those who at
tend the meetings, a countless
number of benefits would be not
ed. There are many renovated
chairs and davenports, more con
veniently arranged kitchens, new
footstools and slipper chairs, new
methods of cooking and serving,
dress forms and sewing every-
where. All members have an in
ner sense of benefits received.
By notifying Ethelene Thomp
son of her interest, any woman
interested in attending any of
the unit meetings, can be placed
on the mailing list and she will
rereive a card telling place and
time of meetings. Notice of the
meetings are also placed in the
newspapers. Langlois unit meets
on the first Thursday of each
month.
There are no dues; expenses of
participation are negligible as a
member pays only for materials
used by herself. Members help
each other and there is a fine
spirit of co-opeartion.
A bettor cotton dress work
shop is scheduled for March and
it is expected that many women
will participate.
