The Southwest league is divided into two sections. The south half in cludes Gold Beach, Myrtle Point, Powers and Bandon. The Bandon group has not signified whether or not they will participate. Last year Gold Beach won the south ern division honors but lost to Coos Bay, northern winners. First practice game will be with Coquille, May 21 at Co quille. The first league game will be at Gold Beach, May 27, against Myrtle Point. Players from last year’s team include Bill Wallace, pitcher; Sammy Chase, second base; Har vey James, third base; Russell Burdick, outfield; Travis Miller, outfield; Bud Wallace outfield. Donald Sosey states that any boys to be qualified would have to be born after Jan. 1, 1933. The prospects for a highly successful season seem promising, he said. Mr. and Mrs. Bud DuBay of Wedderburn returned from a business trip to Portland last week where Mr. DuBay passed his examination for a pilot’s li cense on Rogue River. Lex Fromm and Clayton Triv- ett Sr. were business visitors at Bend, last week. They made the trip by chartered plane from the Leith airport, Friday, with Pilot Rader and Mrs. Rader. On the return trip they were flown over Crater Lake. When Mr. Trivett sighted all the water, he request ed to be taken to the nearest airport, so a trip to Medford was quickly arranged.
