Always are the “Men of Distinction" portrayed in very beautiful clothes. The deceitful thing about such an advertisement is the fact men who drink are not always found beautifully claxl and at- tired. Here is a challenge to the social drinker: A TEST FOR SOCIAL DRINKERS Do you take a drink as a matter of course before dinner or lunch every day? Do you always drink at parties where alcohol is served? NEW YEAR CHEER With The Churches ing last week, will be here this Saturday afternoon so that it can be shown at the Young Peo ple’s hour. Prayer meeting subjects for the week are: Wednesday night at Harbor, “Cain and Abel Test ed”; Thursday night at the Ov erman home in Chetco Heights area, “Why Was Sin Permitted?** Bible training classes are being held on Friday nights at the pastor’s home in Harbor. Do you, rather often, drink for a “lift or pick-up Do you drink to feel less self-conscious or more at ease when you are out socially? Do you take a drink to help you sleep? Do you, ever purposely or unconsciously, drink “too much over a week-end or holiday? Do you get irritable after two or three drinks? Do you feel happier after two or three drinks? When you are away from home, do you drink at hotels, and restaurants in order not to feel bored or lonely ? Do you ever spend money extravagantly afte,r having had a drink or so? “even" one beer? Do you ever drive a car after drinking Are you certain that your drinking, by example or other wise, has no ill effects on any other person? All social drinkers, light, moderate, or heavy, should definitely ask themselves why they drink and why they feel they need a drink. To be absolutely on the safe side of alcohol every social drinker should be able to answer, “No,” to the foregoing. Brookings Temperance Society
