BROOKINGS-HARBOR PILOT Pilot Readers Register Complaint A group of citizens has come to the Pilot office with a complaint. The group complains (1) that logging and lumber trucks drive through Brookings at unlawful rates of speed, that some of the drivers sound their horns at all hours ot the day and night and that some of the trucks are either unequipped with mufflers or unreasonably open up these mufflers when they pass through here; (2) that the speed limit set for Brookings is not obeyed by the general trav- eling public, (3) that motorists unlawfully park their auto- mobiles in Brookings, <4) that Greyhound buses and com- Entered as second-class matter, at the postoffice at Brookings, Ore. Among truck drivers operating out of this communit are some of the most efficient and careful drivers on our highways. Our loggers are a public spirited group who are always anxious and willing to work for the best interests of the public. Our automobile drivers are conscientious and law-abiding. Our children are about to start their school year. More of them will be on our streets. If traffic viola tions are endangering their lives then we must stop these traffic violations.
