Butte Falls went ahead in the top of the second on a wild pitch after the first man walked and three successive singles to score three. Brookings, again show’ed Butte Falls by going ahead, when Nelson and Westbrook walked advanced on a sacrifice, and scored on on Spanglers second hit. Butte Falls were blanked m the third and fourth, while the Pelicans added four more, never to be seriously threatened again. In the fifth, after two were out, two walks and a two-base hit gave Butte Falls a brace of runs. Almost the same thing hap pened in the sixth inning, after two were out, a 2-base hit, and three successive singles added a pair more. In the fifth and sixth Brook V". ings added a run each inning, each by home runs, one by Matson and the other by Hanscam. In the seventh after two were out, and one had scored, Salvage replaced Westbrook and put out the fire without any ado. Brookings put a pair more in their score column that inning and three more in the eighth. After blanking Butte Falls in The World's Best Climate 5, off Salvage 1; off Baker 5- strikeouts: Westbrook 3, Salvage 1, Baker 8; Earned Runs: off Westbrook 9; off Salvage 2; off Baker 11; 9 runs, 11 hits off West brook in 6 2/3 innings; 2 runs, 3 hits off Salvage in 2 1/3 innings. At Cave Junction Next Sunday The Pelicans will travel to the lair of Cave Junction, Sunday, to play the second and return game[ with that group, which they had no particular trouble downing in the first half of the season. The following Sunday, Rogue River is i due here for their first appear-1 ance on the local diamond. Rogue River has yet to win one of its league games. The Rogue River game will close the league season according to* Pete Lesmeister.
