Through hard work and much effort Azalea Garden Club has
convinced peopk* of Southwest Oregon and Northern California that
the Festival Flower Show is an institution of note.
This area is noted for its flowers. To pick one flower for ex-
ploiting over all others will not do the community justice as far
as Oregon and other states afe concerned.
Ladies of the Garden Club Caravan, visitors at the Flower Show
Saturday afternoon were almost unanimous in their praise of the
flower show being made as much a national institution as may be
seen at Oakland, at New York, and most any large city.
Sidney Armor, artist of national repute, told the Pilot that New
York state would give half of its wealth to possess what the west
coast, especially this section, boast of. They would certainly put
forth capital and effort to make it national in appeal.
The azalea festival is not tainted with commercialism it is a
display of nature as about only this community knows.
