V ictor Anderson who is w ith th e m ilitary police a t O saka. Both young men w ere m em bers of th e class which g rad u ated from the Brookings high school in 1946. V ictor has over a n o th e r y e a r of his enlistm ent but C arroll expects to leave for th e sta te s next m onth and re ceive his discharge in April. They w rite th a t it w as good seeing som eone from home a jte r so long, and they both enjoy the news they get through the Pilot. Mr. and Mrs. O. V. Wilson m ade a business trip to P ortland and Salem the middle of January. They retu rn ed for a few days and have gone again, this time to m ake th e ir home in the n o rth ern p a rt of the sta te where Mr. W ilson is employed in Salem. The w hole com m unity will miss this fam ily as they did Mrs. W ilson’s parents. Mr. and Mrs. W ard M etier, when they moved to Spokane last fall. Miss Helen Payne left last w eek for P ark er, Arizona to vis it Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bush for a few weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Childers and L a rry W right left last week for Hobbs, New Mexico to make th e ir fu tu re home. M rs. R uth C raw ford of K lam a th F alls is spending several w eeks a t the home of her mother, Mrs. R uth Bathiany, who is now visiting h e r son. Robert Bathiany and fam ily a t Concord, Calif., and plans to re tu rn home in the n e a r fu tu re. P ete S to ller arrived in Harbor for a visit w ith his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis S toller a fte r spending the sum m er and fall w orking in Alaska. He plans to re tu rn there a fte r his visit. Mr. and Mrs David Crockett and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Perez have returned to H arbor a fte r a several months absence. They sold their ranch they had bought near Gerber, California and are looking for another location. The food sale the members of the High School basketball squad which was conducted at Thor Ask’s m arket Saturday, cleared $65.00: The-"boys are raising the money so they can m ake a trip, either to the state "B” to u rn a ment or to the basketball toura- ment in Ashland, and while this is a good sta rt tow ard the sum needed, quite a lot m ore will be necessary befort they can make either trip. O ther years the stu dent body has had enough to fi nance the trip, but this year that fund is at a low sta te of affairs. The S atellite Social club will meet Thursday, Feb. 12 a t the home of Mrs. Robert Swan. A fter the business m eeting the mem bers will enjoy an old fashioned valentine party. Each person is asked to bring a valentine. Fred L aForge left 'Thursday for Springfield w here he will be pipe inspector during the con struction of the new W eyerhaus- ed plant, and will be employed a fte r completion.
