Funk at the Oakland Flower Show, early in May, has given this area a boost which cannot be measured in dollars and cents, for, through the showing made by them, as pictured here, made it possible for this area to be granted a choice spot at the show next year. Howard Gilkey, manager of the show, was in this area to contact and arrange for the 1948 exhibit. Pictured is the display of Mr. and Mrs. George Funk, which, according to many who saw the display, “stole” the show. It was almost the first time that ( r o f t lilies were given a chance to be seen in mass display, and to be viewed by so many people. With “Lily Blossom Time In Brook ings” being pushed as an advertising fea ture, Croft lilies will “come into fame.”
