er that contained the story about
an old lady who wouldn’t keep
all her eggs in one basket. Grow
ers of this area should likewise
diversify and carry eggs in sev
eral baskets. Another practice
which m ust come about here —
and that soon is the establish
m ent of an experim ental station
for all plants grown in this area.
I can name at least three who
would be qualified to carry on
this work, and there may be two
or three more cqually-well qual
ified to help out.
Experiences of the past year
should have taught a few lessons.
At least these lessons should be
heeded. C e rta in ly ‘ there must be
a closer tie between grow er and
forcer, whereby m utual problems
can be ironed out to m aintain an
understanding which will be good
for the industry.

Sense And Some
N O NSENSE]
Welcome to new businesses in
the area certainly is the right a t
titude to take on the p art of all
those who bought advertising in
the Pilot this week to convey to
the world their good wishes to
the new businesses just opening.
Competition the right kind—
is good for business. Competition
attracts people to an area to do
their buying, and thus, with the
right kind of com petition among
the businesses of this area, cer
tainly the fu tu re can hold a ray
of hope to people who want to
m ake this area their home.
The Pilot extends a hearty wel-
to this a re a : Archie Hendricks
and his Hendricks F u rn itu re Co.,
to Wm. W ard and his W ard's
Clothing Store, and to Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Sm ith who purchased
Polly’s Fam ily Shop. May the fu-i
tu re be good to you and that
you exceed your expectations.
