Magazine Picture
PORTLAND (Special to the
Pilot)—A full-page photograph of
the beauties of a Southern Oregon
lily field, depicted in color in the
April 20 issue of Liberty Maga
zine, is the work of Ralph \ in-
cent, who will leave the Oregon
Journal next June to open a
photograph and gift s h o p at
Brookings.
A veteran of nearly 21 years
with the Jorunal as staff photog
rapher, Vincent has been laying
the groundwork for his shop at
Brookings for a number of years.
He will not, however, sever com
pletely with the free-lance pho
tographic business which he has
built through the years. Having
done much work for Time, Life
and Colliers, in addition to many
other leading magazines, Vincent
expresses the belief that there
are many subjects of interest in
the Brookings area to photograph
for national publications. His
current photograph i n Liberty
bears out his opinion.
Vincent will also establish a
studio in his shop and will special
ize in portrait work. An example
of his extraordinary ability in
this direction is n clayed in the
May issue of American Magazine,
which carries a Vincent photo of
Mrs. Sadie Reddekopp of Dallas
in the “Interesting Poeple” de
partment.
Dogs Destroy Lily
Crops In District
Several complaints are being
heard of the destruction, by stray
dogs, in the lily fields. Most of
this loss is caused at night, when
it is impossible to take necessary
steps but, in some instances, the
canines have been recognized and
are said to be mostly dogs from
town.
