CALENDAR LIVE Jazz Is your pooch sad after being banned from downtown? Do you miss getting tea and sitting in Kesey Square with your furry best friend? You can finally protest the dog ban with Don’t Ban Me: A Pet Parade! Well-behaved and leashed pets of all shapes and sizes are welcome at this parade, which will start at the FOOD for Lane County Dining Room. Participants will march around the perimeter of the dog exclusion area in costumes and on leashes to protest the unjust banishment. The event isn’t just in favor of pups with roofs over their heads either. The event description says, “Dogs are not just a luxury for those of us in the worst poverty. Dogs are a means of survival for many, especially those living unhoused. Having dogs provides security for many, especially women, trans and gender non-conforming folks, and people of color living on the streets who are more likely to be targeted for violence.” Get out there and raise your howls in protest! For more info check out the Facebook event page. Don’t Ban Me: A Pet Parade is 5-7 pm Friday, June 2. The march begins at the parking lot of the FOOD for Lane County Dining Room, 270 W. 8th Avenue.
