    CALENDAR
Eugene Beer Week is an annual celebration of great local IPAs,
stouts, sours, pilsners and everything else imaginable in the
world of beer. The week starts with some events as early as
Saturday, June 3, and goes through Sunday, June 11. There
are over 50 events throughout the week, so check them all
out at eugenebeerweek.org. Visit The Bier Stein’s parking lot
(1591 Willamette Street) from noon to 8 pm on Saturday,
June 3, for The Bier Stein Invitational Beer Fest. There will be
over 30 breweries (plus non-alcoholic beverage options), food
from Oregon Wood Fired Pizza and live music. Entry is $5 for
designated drivers and $20 for regular patrons. On Tuesday,
June 6, stop by Cornucopia on 5th (207 E. 5th Avenue) from
9-11:30 pm to participate in the Ninkasi Coloring Contest. There
will be featured Ninkasi brews on tap. The winner of the coloring
contest will receive a Ninkasi hoodie. The event is free. On
Wednesday, June 7, Ninkasi is holding a class, Beer 101: How to
Taste a Beer, at the Ninkasi Admin Bldg. (155 Blair Boulevard).
It’s at 5 pm and is free, but RSVP is required. RSVP info can be
found on Eugene Beer Week’s website. End the week with the
Summer Sour Sundays Kick-off Event at Beergarden (777 W. 6th
Avenue) from noon to 8 pm on Sunday, June 11. Four sour ales
will be available at Beergarden’s outdoor bar every Sunday for all
of June. Admission to the event is FREE. – Meerah Powell
