The Springfield Museum is hosting a photography exhibit titled “We Are Neighbors” that features over 20 photographs of Lane County immigrants. “The purpose of the exhibit and opening night festivities is to honor all of those who are featured and have shared so generously their stories as immigrants,” exhibit coordinator Carter McKenzie says in a press release. Most of the photographs are from the exhibit’s original collection, which premiered in 1996, with eight new photos added by local photographers Paul Dix, Melissa Nolledo, Herb Ev- erett and Irwin Noparstak. The exhibit features photos and stories of immigrants from Chile, Japan, India, Palestine, Ireland and more. The photos will be up until July 1, but the opening night celebration is on Friday, May 12, and includes live music, poetry and refreshments. CALC (Community Alliance of Lane County) and the local chapter of SURJ (Showing Up for Racial Justice) are sponsoring the exhibit. The opening reception is free, but donations are accepted and will go to Centro Latino Americano for immigrant support services. “We Are Neighbors” is having an opening reception from 5-8pm on Friday, May 12, at the Springfield Museum (590 Main St., Spfd).
