WHAT’S HAPPENING THURSDAY JANUARY 5 S U N R I S E 7: 4 7 A M ; S U N S E T 4 : 4 8 P M AV G. HIGH 45 ; AV G. LO W 32 FILM The General screening, 6:30-9pm, Wildish Community Theater, 630 Main St., Spfd. FREE. If you’ve still got a dead Christmas tree scattering pine needles all over your living room, you can kill two birds with one stone in the giving season by having a charity pick it up for a small fee. A Team Justice League, a local nonprofit that advocates for the alter-abled, is picking up Christmas Trees for a fee of $10. Donations will go towards “A sensory gym for Lane County,” organizer Amy Rayfield says. “A gym would allow kids to come in and experience things on their terms and learn how to regulate their system over time,” Rayfield says. “Our gym would have not only trampolines and swings, but calming areas with low lights,” which would allow patrons with all kinds of needs to enjoy the planned facility. The trees will be taken directly from your front yard. “We’ve been in touch with one of our parents who owns a farm with goats, and actually goats like Christmas trees.” Trees that don’t become goat feed will be given to Lane Forest Products, which takes them for a small fee, according to Rayfield. A Team Justice League is picking trees up on Saturday, Jan. 7, 10 am-4 pm, in your front yard. Call Amy Rayfield at 870-5487 or Nancy Berge at 606-7175 to schedule a pickup. — Kelly Kenoyer 16 January 5, 2017 • eugeneweekly.com The Last Waltz 40th Anniversa- ry, 7pm, WOW Hall. FREE.
