Eugene’s Home For Jazz 124 West Broadway Advance tickets available online @ www.thejazzstation.org Twangy and decked out in plaid, the Whiskey Shivers are the epitome of hipster country boys. And, boy, do they know how to play. The band (claiming to have been “born in a woodpile”) got started in 2009, and they’ve been raisin’ hell, whiskey bottles in hand, ever since. Bobby Fitzgerald (vocals, fiddle) curls his mustache and croons raspy- voiced lyrics of love, life and booze. Andrew VanVoorhees plucks away at the upright bass. Joe Duece scratches the washboard. Guitarist Jeff “Horti” Hortillosa and banjo phe- nom James Bookert are damn near impossible to keep up with. Whiskey Shivers get down and play hard Wednesday at the Hi-Fi Lounge.
