CALENDAR tomorrow exchange buy * sell*trade Hot flashes, night sweats and sexual predicaments: Let’s talk menopause. More often than not, this taboo stage of a woman’s life doesn’t get the representation it deserves — until Meno- pause the Musical, that is. Written by Jeanie Linders, the show debuted in Florida in 2001 and has become an uproarious national tribute to the wonderful world of changing hormones. Megan Cavanagh (Earth Mother), Donna J. Huntley (Professional Woman), Kathy St. George (Soap Star) and Teri Adams (Iowa Housewife) cover menopause-themed parody songs and exhibit an unapologetic sense of humor that keeps the production high-energy and incredibly relatable. “I would say the show is empowering, hilarious and a sisterhood,” says Adams, who is coming up on her 10th anniversary performing in the musical. She says she’s seen grand- mothers and mothers bring their daughters to the musical, sharing education about this life chapter across generations. Menopause isn’t just for a particular audience, though. “A lot of men come to the show, too,” Adams says. “One man said this should be a mandatory workshop for all men.” Hot-flash fans available at the show.
