restaurant Chow! LISTINGS Word is The famed pretzels of Reality Kitchen (645 River Rd.) are coming to a food cart near you. Reality Kitchen is a nonprofit bakery that hires young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing a path to employment through job skills training. Jim Evangelista, who runs Reality Kitchen, says the pretzel cart came about through collaboration with McKenzie Commercial Construction, Summit Bank, Eugene Builders Exchange and others who volunteered to lend a helping hand and bring the food cart to life. Evangelista says he hopes the cart will “work to change community perceptions of how individuals who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities can contribute to the economic and cultural landscape.” Evangelista plans to site the cart near the University of Oregon.
