CLASSIFIEDS ADVERTISEMENT HELLO! MY NAME IS Robin Grace LCSW, Psychotherapist www.robingrace.com 541-914-4914 Who Am I? For twenty-fi ve years I have practiced psychother- apy, enjoying a rich, diverse life from the wildness of New York City to the wilderness of Alaska. Along the way, I’ve been exposed to a wide range of people and various chal- lenges. My practice opened in Eugene one year ago. Growing up in Brooklyn New York, I at- tended graduate school and psychoanalytic training in Manhattan. Living in Green- wich Village, the community of arts and alternative culture infl uenced my personal and professional growth. I continue to serve patients in the New York area. On the other end of spectrum, from 2003 through 2011, I lived with my family in Southeast Alaska in our off- the-grid home on a peninsula bordering one of the deepest fjords in North America. Our home was accessible only by foot or by small boat, depending on the tides. This approach was always beautiful, but at its most chal- lenging could include gale-force winds, ice-cloaked rock and wading through a rising creek. Providing therapy to a rural northern community, I learned that despite their strengths people continue to feel shame and worry that they will be judged as weak, if they work with a psychotherapist. Passionate about de-mystifying psychotherapy and the relational issues we all experience, I produced, directed and acted in Shrink Rap, a radio show for the local public station. The show featured act- ing and analysis of the psychological and emotional nuances people go through in everyday life (http://www.khns.org/shrinkrap). As a therapist I work with people in transition. Some struggle with loss while others are afraid to risk, for fear of losing love. Humans are resilient and I am inspired by the will to change. Therapy is a journey, for all who participate. I look forward to sharing creative approaches to psychotherapy with you. Interested in writing about your business? It is now included as part of a discounted Classifi eds ad package.
