Classifieds ADVERTISEMENT HELLO! my name is Harold Hansen Dog Trainer and Owner of “Heeling Free” Dog School In 1968, two years after I moved to Eugene to at- tend the U of O, I got my fi rst dog. Growing up in an apartment in NYC, I never had one. Knowing nothing about training, I mistakenly trusted him off leash and he got hit by a car on Hilyard Street. After I fi nished grad school, I took a class with my second mixed breed dog and really enjoyed it. Funding for my high school teaching job dried up and in 1976 I opened “Heeling Free” Dog School in the building that is now the Ninkasi Brewery. I expanded up to Corvallis and am now in my 36 year helping people enjoy their family dog. This is not show dog training. It is just getting your dog to come back when you call, not jump on your friends, go on walks without going after other dogs or kids. It is about giving your dog the freedom to be off leash while not worrying about it getting hit by a car or getting into trouble because of behavior problems. Unlike most of the other programs, you get your dog to mind without using treats. Why? Food can be out in the street and you want your dog to pay atten- tion even when you don’t have treats. You can try one week for free and if you sign up you can bring the dog back for free if you need more help. Class atmosphere is lighthearted yet effective. If you would like to learn more, please call me at 484-6680, or check out Heelingfree.com. Interested in writing about your business? It is now included as part of a discounted Classifi eds ad package. Call 541-484-0519 for more info.
