Post Holiday Really, Really Free Market, bring/take anything, no As the cold snap snaps and things begin to thaw out a bit, you’d be well advised to take advantage of a First Friday Art Walk that looks downright hot this month. Just a few of the highlights include the complexly textured, brilliantly disturbing paintings (including wonderful self portraits) of Rebecca DeMoss and the sepia-tinted photography of John Watson at Studio Mantra, illustrations by Stone Soup cartoonist Jan Eliot and the lovely collage work of Rogene Manas at Jacobs Gallery, and the always intriguing art of Shannon Knight, whose pieces (such as “Angels” pictured above) are a collision of Bosch, Bacon and the late David Wojnarowicz. And these are but a few of the fi ne local artists represented this time around.
