LITERARY Appearance by Bill Sure, Eugene hosted the Summer Olympics track and fi eld trials a few years back, and some athletes competing likely had it in their mind to at least try to break world records in their respective sports, like pole vaulting and such, and maybe a few even did, and a lot of spectators sat in the stands and watched, eating hot dogs and sipping on juice, but let’s face it, as a species we’ve been swimming nekkid just as long as we’ve been running around in circles, so let’s take our hats off — and everything else we got on — and give a big old bare-assed salute to the Willamettans, who on Saturday, July 10, at noon will attempt to enter the Guinness Book of World Records at their Marcola family nudist resort when they disrobe and plunge into the water as part of the “AANR Largest Skinny-Dip Across North America,” the former record having been set in 2009 when 13,674 totally nude folks in 139 locations took the simultaneous dive. This is serious stuff, people, and if you need to know more about the courageous attempt, take a dip into the group’s web site at www.willamettans.com 31 music 9 fri Sunrise 5:39am; Sunset 8:57pm Av High 81; Av Low 50 DANCE Deva Priyo & Gypsy Moon, Luminessah feat.
