The barn, at the Steve

teacher Les Geren has
overseen in his 10 years at
the school

"Each kid draws up his

Gesdahl bought all the

"the kids get experience

one of them who has built a
barn before.”
Geren said a commercial
outfit could probably build
the same structure in two
working days with a crew
of three or four, but they
would have access to more
sophisticated m achinery
for the construction such as
cranes for placing trusses
“ We do all our work from

He said it would take up
to 10 minutes to get one
raftei straight in the early
going while the students
worked from the ladders
By the time it was in place,
another pair of students
would start and the learn

over.
