Wilson said "It depends on
their needs analysis We
want (the developer) to
establish there's a local
need "
If the developers can pro
ve a need exists locally for
more housing of this
nature, then funding may
be made available in the
future for additional units,
Wilson said
Although all three pro
posals are currently just in
the pre-application stage.
Monday evening each
developer will get the op
portunity to discuss the
particulars of his or her
project with the Sandy City
Council and lobby for coun
cil support in a public hear
ing at 8 p.m at Sandy City
Hall
Sandy's comprehensive
plan requires city fathers
to disperse subsidized
housing throughout the
community. Because all
three proposals are for low-
to moderate-income, sub-
sidized family units, the ci
ty will participate in the
FHA review process
The first proposal is for a
35-unit complex, south of
McCormick D rive near
Loundree and Wolf Drives
T h a t is proposed by
Westgate Homes of North
Bend
The second proposal is
for a 24-unit complex, sub
mitted by Michael McKeel
of Gresham That would be
built just north of Tupper
Area youngsters are tak
ing steps this week to
brighten the Thanksgiving
celebrations for some
deserving senior citizens
and families.
The Sandy Pathfinder
Club will be going door to
door tomorrow, Oct 29, in
the Sandy area gathering
canned
goods

some 60 Pathfinders from
Hood View Seventh-day
Adventist Church in Boring
began their drive in the
Boring-Damascus area,
distributing grocery sacks
for contributions which will
be picked up this Saturday
Every year Pathfinder
Clubs go out at Halloween
and, rather than asking for
a treat for themselves, they
ask for food to help others
The food collected locally
is taken to the Adventist
Community Service Center
where it is used to prepare
food baskets for deserving
families in the community.
Each box contains a com
plete meal for the family.
People in the area served
by Hood View Pathfinder
Club may wish to leave
their sack on the doorstep if
they plan to be out Satur
day. It will be picked up by
a club member
If a person is not con
tacted by a member of one
of the Pathfinder Clubs and
they would like to con
tribute to the food drive,
they may contact the local
church. In Sandy, the
number is 668-6144 In the
Boring-Damascus area,
the numbers are 663-5611 or
658-6777.
Pathfinder Clubs are
sponsored by the Seventh-
day Adventist Church.
Pathfinders In Sandy and Boring are busy this week collecting food to help stock
Thanksgiving baskets for deserving families.

According to city planner
